The Benefits of Utilizing Laser Hair Removal
Posted by: | CommentsWhether we want to or not, we all end up getting rid of hair on our bodies at some point. Women go out of their way to make sure they have perfectly done eyebrows, clear upper lips, no unwanted underarm hair and hair in any other place that can be considered offensive. Any man who wants to look properly groomed is sure to remove excess hair that could be a ‘turn-off’. And this is what is expected of all of us in public. To fit in, society demands that hair that it classifies as unsightly must be removed, no matter what the price. This would be fine if it were easy, but very often, it is terribly inconvenient. Not only is it a painful, or tedious process, but it usually has to be repeated every few weeks. Fortunately, longer lasting techniques like laser hair removal have been developed to make the whole process more convenient.
Dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons have known the secret of laser hair removal for quite a while, but it wasn’t in widespread use until recently. Now, laser hair removal is used to safely and efficiently remove excess hair from any part of your body.
How does laser hair removal work? Well, the theory behind it is quite easy. The laser beam used is one that only targets melanin in the skin, that is, the ingredient in our system that gives our hair its color. In the process of laser hair removal, the laser is focused on the part of the body you want hair removed from and the melanin absorbs it. This then causes hair to drop out. To ensure that this procedure doesn’t cause damage, it’s done in separate sessions. Laser hair removal can be a bit time consuming in this sense. Laser hair removal takes a little more dedication than waxing or threading because it takes some time, up to 2 months, for results to really show. You need to be ready to visit your dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon for around 2 months before you see the results you want. But the end result is something worth the trouble, and so laser hair removal is definitely going to be around for a long time.

The advanced equipment that is used is the main reason why laser hair removal treatments are so expensive. Clinics that carry out this procedure have invested a lot on the equipment and technology that’s been used and as a result the laser hair removal prices end up being high compared to other types of hair removal treatments.
You will notice that some clinics will offer flat free rates. For instance, no matter what your hair type is or how large the surface area is, the laser hair removal prices per procedure for a person’s chest or back, etc would always remain at a fixed price.

The market is full of hair removing products and hair removal treatments which have made it easier for the customer to purchase whatever they want that suits their skin and hair type. Temporary hair removal treatments include both depilation and epilation. Depilation is the removal of only part of the hair, which is on the surface of the skin. Shaving is one of the most commonly used forms of hair removal. In addition to this, there are also chemical depilatories such as creams and shaving powders that are applied to dissolve the hair. Epilation is removal of the entire hair from the root itself. This method is more long lasting and includes different forms such as; waxing, plucking with tweezers, threading, sugaring, and using epilators such as mechanical tweezers.

Hair growth inhibitor treatments is the process of consuming prescribed medicines such as oral medications and also using topical creams that are clinically proven to slow the growth of hair in a persons face, etc. Vaniqa is a cream that is prescribed for women aged 12 and above. Application of the cream helps in the reduction of unwanted facial hair. The cream can be used in conjunction with another hair removal method to get best results.
Apart from the above methods, there are doubtful hair removal treatments that are in practice but are not clinically proven for its efficiency and effectiveness. Hair Loss Conquered!
Posted by: | CommentsMy Personal Battle With Hair Loss
by Chris Oxford
My problems started when I was just 21 years old. Just when I was supposed to be having the care-free time of my life, I was shocked to discover my hair thinning on the top of my head.
A couple of years later and it had gotten worse – a small bald spot started to emerge. I started to wear baseball caps all the time, even indoors, because I didn’t want people (especially women) to see my thinning hair on top. And when I couldn’t wear a cap, I would comb my hair over the bald spot and try to cover it.
I started to get teased by my so-called “friends” and co-workers. They only meant it as “a joke” but it sure didn’t feel good to me to be called “comb-over”.
Learn How I Conquered Hair Loss!
I hated feeling like this. Was I growing old before my time? Was I destined to be unattractive to women for the rest of my life? At my low points I even blamed my family for giving me genetic baldness. I was desperate for help. Why me?
I tried everything you can think of. I went to my doctor and I tried the drugs but they gave me really bad side effects. I felt dizzy and nauseous. I even started to develop “man boobs”. And after 18 months of drugs I threw them out because they made no difference (did you know that the drugs weren’t even invented for hair loss in the first place!). I even put down a thousand dollar deposit on hair transplantation surgery but I cancelled when I learned how unreliable the procedure is and how bad the results are.
After years of looking for a solution I discovered the cure purely by accident. I was visiting Moscow in 2006 and trying to court some new business with the trade delegate of a local company, a man named “Yuri”. After striking a successful business deal, we decided to go out and celebrate. As the vodka flowed and we got incredibly drunk, the subject of “going bald” came up (I’m guessing because Yuri had spotted my “comb over” hairstyle).
Yuri himself had a healthy head of hair but he told me that he had also once struggled with hair loss. He said that he used a simple and natural, daily 10 minute regime to maintain his healthy head of hair. He said that where he was from, men had been using this cure for hundreds of years and had never even heard of hair loss pills or surgery.
Naturally, I was skeptical. Could something so simple and natural really cure hair loss? I was brought up to believe that if you have a health problem then a pill will cure you and your doctor always has the answer (ironically, I have since learned that Yuri’s method is supported by real science). But then I remembered my own experience with hair loss drugs and I no longer trusted the medical establishment. I had also tried practically everything else anyway so I thought, what the heck! Why not try something else? What have I got to lose?
It Worked!
Hair grows less than one millimetre every day so I knew I wouldn’t get results overnight. Bear in mind that hair loss drug manufacturers tell you to use their products for at least 6 months to see any difference. After just a couple of months I started to notice some subtle changes but I didn’t want to get my hopes up. But after 6 months I could confirm a definite change in my hair. My hair was thicker and stronger and I had new hairs growing from where it had most recently been lost. I was amazed!
Every 6 months I had even more hair. It was as if I was looking younger and younger each time I looked at myself in the mirror! After 3 years, I had nearly all of my original hair back, about 90% of it (you can only get 100% original coverage with expensive and risky surgery). But here’s the best part.
As I started to get my hair back my life changed for the better. I started a business and met the woman of my dreams, Karen. We got married and I’m now the proud father of a young son, James. Now, there’s no way that Karen married me because of my hair but I don’t think it was a coincidence either. I’m absolutely convinced that all these great things happened to me as my self-confidence increased due to getting my hair back. I feel now like I can achieve anything I want. Plus I can teach my son how to avoid hair loss when he is older!
