What’s Your Best Fashion Hairstyle?

You’ve probably heard it said that you should choose a haircut style based upon the shape of your face. In addition, there are also other factors, like your hairline, your neckline, necklaces or other jewelry, earrings, make up, and so on. And it is true that hairstyles are best selected according to what your face looks like.

To determine what might be a good look for you, the first thing you should do is to measure your face lengthwise from your hairline to your chin. Now, bisect that measurement and see where it falls. Are your eyes above that centerline? If so, whatever distance your eyes occur above the centerline, add the same amount of hair height; for example, if your eyes are a half-inch above the centerline, add half an inch to the height of your hairstyle.

If you want to take a look at how different hair styles and color look based on the shape of your face, you can do it without cutting your hair. Wet your hair down and then massage egg white in it until it’s fully “lathered.” This will give your hair the ability to hold different heights and styles as you try them out. And, it won’t dry your hair out the way other methods might.

First, comb hair straight back without a part and see what your face looks like. Does your face look too long? If it does, comb hair forward from your hairline until it “bulges” over your forehead, and keep it close to head up both the top and sides. Then, try it with some width by pulling out the top and sides.

Next, part your hair in the center and comb it straight on either side. Experiment with different looks, such as widening the top and sides, and flattening the top and sides.

Finally, part your hair on either side, trying different degrees of part as you do so. Try combing it flat and toward the back, give it a bit of height, and so on. As you do all of these different positions, keep track of what you think makes your face look best.

Even as you try these different looks, though, realize that the shape of your face is one of the least of your worries when it comes to the proper hairstyle. What you really want to do is to make sure that you remain open and friendly, because beauty and charm really do come from within. Even if you’re very, very pretty and have the perfect hairstyle, you may still be very unattractive if you have an unattractive expression on your face.

Nonetheless, of course, a hairstyle and temporary color that suits you can really make you even more attractive. Doing the above three experiments should tell you a little bit more about what type of hairstyle will look best on you.
